The archipresbyter’s Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, ( the MariackiChurch) is one of the largest and most important churches in Cracow after the Wawel Cathedral and has been a basilica since 1963. It is one of the most well-known buildings in Krak�w and Poland situated in the north east corner of the Main Square.According to Jan D�ugosz, the parish church in the Main Square in Krak�w, was founded by Iwon Odrowazy, bishop of "Krak�w" between 1221-1222. A new church was partly built on the site in the early Gothic style between the years 1290 -1300 and consecrated in 1320.It's world famous because of two different towers, beautiful carved altar and the signal that saved the city which is played till now...
